Free Cell Phone Ear Piece from Metro PCS - Southern California Residents Only

Starting July 1, Californians must abide by a new state law requiring drivers to use a hands-free device with their cell phone. If you haven't bought one yet, Metro PCS is offering a free cell phone ear piece, thanks to a tip from The Bargain Hunter. Pick one up from Monday, June 2 until Sunday June 8. Check out the details from The Bargain Hunter's blog here.

In case there's not a Metro PCS around you, or the ear piece isn't compatible with your phone, read this article from CBS5 on the best hands-free cell phone devices. According to the article, the best ones based on sound quality, simplicity and price are:
* Jabra Earbud $10-$20 (found here for $6.88)
* Bluetooth LG 30 $40-$50 (includes charger)
* Cardo S800 $90 (found here for $84.99)
* MotoROKR t505 $100-$170 (found here for $94.95)

Before you buy any of these, make sure that they are compatible with your cellular phone. Also, check bizrate.com to find the best price and a reputable retailer.

FYI, a violation of the new California law will incur a $20 fine for a first offense and $50 for each subsequent offense. For more details on the new California law, click here.
