Ralph's New Coupon Policy

The price of rice has doubled, gas prices are nearing $5 per gallon, and now Ralph's has clipped their coupon policy. I'd hate to guess what's next in the lineup of economic woes. Anyway according to today's article from the LA Times, Ralph's grocery stores are expected to eliminate bonus valuations on coupons for $1 or more and will only double the value of coupons for 50 cents or less starting this Wednesday. Wow...I'll really miss those doubling of dollars, which really helped cut my weekly grocery bill. At least Von's is still doubling...for now!

Great Find: Coca-Cola Brand Coupons at Ralph's

I hardly ever find coupons for Coca-Cola brand products, but today I found a goldmine in the soda section at Ralph's! On specially marked 12 packs of Coca-Cola products, there are booklets of coupons entitled "Bring Home the World, Bring Home Great Savings, Savings of Over $32." The coupons are only valid at Ralph's and expire 9/1/08. The coupons include:

• Get a FREE 2 Liter bottle of Coca-Cola Zero with any 4 Coca Cola 2 Liter bottles
• $1.50 off any 3 Coke 12 packs
• Get one (1) 32 oz. of Powerade free when you buy 3
• Save $1.00 off a 24 pack of Dasani
• $.50 off a 200 oz. Coca-Cola
• $1.00 off a 6-pack of Evian
• $0.50 cents off a 2 Liter bottle of Nestea
• 7 Day pass to 24 Hour Fitness

If you shop at Ralph's this week you can get the following Coca-Cola products on the cheap:

• Dasani Water (24 pack) is on sale for $4.99. Use the $1 coupon, less $1 for doubling and your grand total will be $2.99 (plus CRV)
• Coca-Cola, Diet Coke or Coke Zero 12 packs are 2 for $8. Pick up another at $4 for a total of $12. Use the $1.50 coupon, less $1 for doubling and pay $9.50 (approximately $3.17 per pack).
  

Since these coupons don't expire until 9/1/08, I recommend holding onto them and waiting for a better sale on Coke 12 packs and 2 Liter bottles. July 4th sales are just around the corner!

Diapers on the Cheap at Ralph's & CVS

This week at Ralphs, you get $4 off a $20 purchase of Huggies or Pull-Ups products at checkout. Read the details here. You can mix and match diapers with wipes or bath and body products according to this promotion. Make sure you also do the following to make this deal even better:

• Use your coupons - there was a $1 off Huggies in the Sunday coupons
• Signup for additional Huggies coupons at shortcuts.com. This is a site that will automatically load coupons on your grocery rewards cards.
  

Here's how I scored on diapers this past week at Ralph's:
Pull Ups at $10.99
Huggies overnights at $9.99
Total of $20.98
- $4 for promotion
- $2 Huggies Pull Ups coupon
- $1 Huggies (any brand) coupon
- $2 Huggies Pull Ups coupon from shortcuts.com
FINAL TOTAL for 2 packages of diapers: $11.98 ($5.99 for a package of diapers isn't too bad!)
I know I could have saved an additional $1 for the Huggies (any brand) on shortcuts.com, but apparently I forgot to load it onto my card!

CVS
Thanks to The "Cents"ible Sawyer, the buy two get one free on select CVS brands promotion this week also includes diapers. As I mentioned before, I really like CVS Training Pants - I think they are just as good, if not better, than Pampers Easy Ups. I'm not sure if this works nationwide, so check with your local CVS first. Here's what I'm planning to do:

Buy 2 CVS Diapers at $8.99 (average price, this may be different at your local CVS) = $17.98
Get one package of CVS diapers free
Buy 1 Aquafresh Toothpaste at $2.99
Subtotal = $20.97
Less $4/20 CVS welcome coupon
Less $3/10 CVS Brand coupon
Final total = $13.97
Less $10 ECS
$3.97 OOP
Get $2.99 ECBs

At least I'll get some ECBs, three packs of diapers and one toothpaste!
