Giving "Tanks" Offers from Retailers & Companies - Free Gas With Purchase Finds

I had been agonizing for months that gas prices would reach $4 a gallon, and now, in a blink of an eye, the prices have soared way over that amount - to almost $4.50 a gallon! I didn't even get a chance to get adjusted to spending $4 a gallon! I just want to vomit.

Ever since Sears announced their gas card promotion this week, I wanted to find out what other retailers or companies were jumping on the bandwagon as well to help fellow consumers. So after a furious internet search, I found a few more "free-gas-with-purchase" opportunities. (Special thanks to The Consumerist for some of the tips). Most of these deals are for the month of June, so act fast if you are interested.
  • Callaway Golf Clubs is offering a $50-$100 American Express Gas Card with the purchase of certain drivers including: FT-i = $100 card; a FT-5= $75 card; or the Hyper X = $50 card. Offer ends 07/15/2008. Click here for details and redemption form.
  • Choice Hotels (Comfort Inn, Clarion and Sleep Inn) is offering a $50 gas card with any 3 hotel stays when you register for their points program. The deal is valid through August 14, 2008.
  • Expedia.com is offering $50 reward card for free gas when you book a stay of 3 or more nights at participating U.S. and Canada hotels and pay using your MasterCard® card. This promotion is part of the Expedia Summer of Adventure...Discover Yours. Book by June 15, 2008.
  • Hotels.com is offering a $50 gas card with a 3-night booking. Use promotional code GAS50 before July 6, 2008.

  • Toyota's Roll Into Summer Tire Promotion offers a $50 gas card with the purchase of 4 tires totaling a minimum of $150 (pre-tax) at any of its participating dealerships this month (June). Not great, but not bad either, especially if you are in need of tires. Click for details and redemption form here.
  • Travelocity is offering the first tank of gas free when you rent a Hertz car for a minimum of 3 days before June 30, 2008.
  • TexasCampgrounds.com is giving away a $250 free gas card every quarter to one lucky visitor who fills out this form.
  • Warehouse Shoe Sale (Southern California only) is giving away 1,000 free $35 Arco gas cards each month at 50 of their Southern California stores, including locations in Anaheim, Fullerton and two in Santa Ana. No purchase required. For details, visit their website here (special thanks to the OC Retailer).
  • Certain grocery store retailers, such as Kroger, are rewarding customers with a minimum of 10 cents off per gallon of gas for every $100 spent in the store. Check out the details in this news article here, and also check your local grocery store for details.
As soon as I hear about more free gas gift cards, I'll post them ASAP.
