My husband e-mailed me this great article from The Bargain Hunter blog about certain retailers who will give you bonuses and discounts for using your rebate check with them. This article also got me on the hunt for more retailers wanting those nice fat rebate checks. Here's a compilation of additional rebate bonuses:
Grocery Stores
- Kroger: $30 bonus for every $300 in tax rebate checks exchanged for store gift cards. For example, if you have a $300 rebate can get a $330 gift card, and families with a $1,200 check can get a $1,320 gift card.
- Supervalu, parent company of Albertsons, Jewel-Osco, Shop 'n Save: $30 bonus for every $300 in tax rebate checks exchanged for store gift cards. Offer will be valid through July 31.
- Fry's Foods - $30 bonus for every $300 in tax rebate checks exchanged for store gift cards.
- Wal-Mart will cash rebate checks free of charge.
- Home Depot is offering discounts on some of its environmentally friendly products to encourage shoppers to start going green. If you need a high-efficiency washing machine (Energy Star appliances) or compact fluorescent light bulbs, spend your dollars here.
- Holiday Inn Sunspree's Vacation is featuring an "On the Government Package" for $1,200 that includes a five-night stay for two in Virginia Beach, Va., with breakfast and dinner.
